Is The Economist trying to make me crazy? Because it’s doing a damn fine job of it

A chart from this story in The Economist:

Spot the missing G-7 country. Its population is roughly the same as the top five countries put together; the vast majority of which are able to read English.

Hint: it’s not Chad.

I often get my basic information from The Economist, and then I do my own research by going straight to the sources they supply. I realize that we can’t expect too much from a news magazine, but I’m with you — I wish The Economist would do my work for me (ie. mention Canada!).
Forbes is pretty good about including Canada in its rankings and profiles. In fact, if it became a weekly, I might be tempted to just cancel my Economist subscription.
BTW, we’re ranked 11th, down from 10th, on the NRI.

Canada often gets left out of international comparisons of this type, I have noticed.
